Priests Info
ATTENTION: Beginning the first week in June, Cactus will show us one new Priest card each week on the Redemption Website!
The Facts:
- 261 card set: 12 Ultra-rare, 39 rare, 100 uncommon, 100 common, 10 promos (one promo will be for World Vision and you can get it by sponsoring a child or by participating in a 30 hour famine with your youth group).
- $3.00 per pack (10 cards: 5 C, 4 U, 1 R/UR, 1 black and white info card), $135 per box (45 packs)
- Will release late August 2006. Plans are to have priests at Nationals, but they will not be legal at Nationals.
- Heros will be primarily old testament, and Evil Characters will be a decent mix. (Bryon Hake, EZboard).
- Two new brigades will be released, Teal and Orange. (www.redemptionca.com)
- All priests currently in the game are being reprinted in the Teal brigade, plus many new priests are being added. This brigade will be mighty out of the gate, with plenty of heroes, enhancements, covenants, and even a weapon-class enhancement. Even a few Teal sites are being made (www.redemptionca.com).
- All demons that are released from now on will be in the orange brigade (just like silver for angels). Some out of print demons are being reprinted in the Priests set, and some new demons are being added.(www.redemptionca.com)
- There will be a new card type called "Curses." These are the evil equivalent of Covenants. They with have the dual skull and artifact icons and can be used as an artifact or evil enhancement.
- Jeremiah, Aaron, Zechariah, Jethro, Eli the Priest, Ezekiel, Melchizedek and Ahimaaz will all be reprinted in the Priests set. The art and numbers on those cards are probably going to remain unchanged from their prior versions. But expect to see some new or modified special abilities. (Bryon Hake, Ezboard)
- There is a new demon in the works for Priests that may please those who favor the Hand Control strategy. (Stephen Schaefer, Holder's Heroes Blog)
- "None of the Priest Lost Soul cards are R or UR."
--The Schaef on EZBoard (Lost Soul Bonus Thread in Game Ideas & Variants
area)

The Quotes:
- If people don't like this set, I'm going to be very suprised. - Rob Anderson (RP: Episode X)
- Playing with Priests has radically altered the way I factor Dominants into my deck builds. - The Schaef (Holders Heroes: Making the most of Your Dominants)
- I have not seen this kind of card creativity since the Apostles. - Doug Gray (EZboard)
- This is about as excited as I have been about any set since the Kings came out. - The Schaef (RP - Episode II)
- Although there have been some decks where GotL was the only Dominant I had in my deck, or one of two (the other being the new one). Kind of makes you wonder, doesn't it? - Schaef (EZBoard).
-
- If there were a such thing as buying and selling stock in a card, I'd sell all my Three Nails stocks. - Bryon Hake (EZBoard)
- There was a particular gray brigade evil character that I found particularly interesting just because it's going to really wreak havoc with the already played false peace card. It's going to take the already infamous False Peace..... and "Kick it up a notch" - Tom Gibson (Redemption Podcast: Episode 14)
- Ambush and Invisible Beings are allowed (even though they make the game fairly easy as well) only because there is a counter to them in Priests - Eric L.(EZBoard)
- If you haven't caught on, the Sadducess are making themselves comfortable in the Black brigade, and are leaving the gray brigade to the Pharisees. - Priests Article 8
